This research is focused on competency of the teaching Staff in Child Care Training course of Junior Colleges and Professional Training Colleges, under the expansion of Child Care Training course along with expanding demand for nursery teachers and a movement toward integrated kindergartens and nursery schools. And it examined on the basis of survey results about professional background and educational activity of the Teaching Staff. Specialty of about a half of teaching staff is Education and social welfare, while one of the other half is not Education and social welfare. However, theirs are related to Education and social welfare. It means that they give a lecture in which they associate their own specialty with childcare. The fact that there are many teaching staffs whose specialties aren't childcare suggests that they can provide lectures using their specialties for students. It is also important for nursery teachers to cultivate their broaden specialties. About in educational activities of teaching staff, required time for lecture and its preparation is the longest. About time spent for their research is less in teaching staff whose specialty is Education and social welfare. Moreover, teaching staff whose specialties and area of their lectures aren't education and welfare have more opportunities of presentation and participation at academic meetings. Degree of satisfaction for opportunity that their specialties are needed is high in all types. And degree of satisfaction for support system for their research activities at workplaces is relatively low.
